1. Air dry and store

In this case, allowing chestnuts to air-dry can greatly increase the shelf life of chestnuts. Soaking chestnuts in water for three to seven days can effectively kill the bacteria and insect eggs in them, then take them out and drain them, so they will not spoil easily after being stored. If you add a small amount of bleach (a concentration of five ten thousandths is enough), the effect will be better.

2. Ventilated storage

Place the fresh chestnuts in a cool and ventilated place. Spread the fresh chestnuts and do not pile them up. As long as the ventilation of the chestnuts can be ensured, there is no problem in storing them for one or two months.

3. Bag air drying

Spread the fresh chestnuts in a container and dry them in a cool and ventilated place for 2 to 3 days, and then put them into cloth bags. Cloth bags have good air permeability and plastic bags must not be used. Hang it in a cool and ventilated place, shake and hit it 1 to 2 times a day. This method can generally store chestnuts for 4 months.

4. Refrigerated storage

Put the fresh chestnuts in the sun for about a day, then peel off the shells, put them in a plastic bag, tie the mouth, and put them in the refrigerator. This can also increase the storage time, but it should be noted that the chestnuts must be Remove the shell and preserve it.

5. Mixed storage of sawdust

Mix fresh chestnuts with sawdust, remember to cover the top with some sawdust, and store it in a cool and ventilated place, so that it can be stored for a period of time.

6. Sand preservation

A large number of chestnuts can be buried in sand. Put the sand into the container, put a layer of sand on the bottom, and put a layer of chestnuts on the sand. Cover with another layer of sand. After covering with sand, add another layer of chestnuts, and so on. After placing the chestnuts, add a final layer of sand. Spray water every once in a while to keep the sand moist.
